This is the New Bridge over the Danube in Bratislava. The "Flying Saucer" on top of the pylon is a restaurant. The bridge is on 2 levels with a road on the top and a pedestrian walkway underneath, which I where I stood to make this shot. I spent a long time walking back and forwards along the bridge to get the right position to perfectly frame the subject. The image is all about strong lines and structure so I increased the brightness and contrast a lot to take out the unwanted detail of the underside of the bridge, so as not to take attention away from the Flying Saucer. This helps make it a more striking image, and I used just 2 tones, black, and white, with no complex shading, to allow the simplicity of the structure to speak for itself.
