Kodak Park - Building 29

Kodak Park - Building 29

This is an image of Eastman Kodak's Building 29 which houses the huge 14 Room film coating machine. This machine and Building 38 (the building to the right of 29) are the last Kodak Film sensitizing buildings. If you shoot Kodak Film, this is where it came from. I captured this image on a rainy Saturday night in Rochester, New York. I shot the image with a Pentax K10D and 18-55mm kit lens and processed it in Silkypix Developer Studio 3. I like this image not only because low light industrial photography is my favorite, but this building has produced some of the greatest consumer and motion picture films in the world.

THE KODAK FAMILY
by: Anonymous

I spent 26 out of my 32 years of service in film emulsion bldg 29 and 30 and it was a great place to work. It is sad to see a great company that it was, go to where they are now. When i left in 1991 there were 63,000 people there at kodak park. At one time it was truly a family company. Great pay and benefits.

Building 29 to be "decommissioned"
by: Anonymous

Friends still working at Kodak tell me today (April 26th) there was an announcement that 14 room will be shut down on May 20th, and building 29 will be "decommissioned". That will leave only building 38 for sensitizing.

Still the best
by: Kevin Miller

Worked throughout Kodak Park, mostly as an AEM. What a privilege to have been a part of a company that reached so many people.

I think the thing I miss the most is the wonderful people who mentored and worked with me through the years. I'll never forget them.
