I discovered this abandoned Lada half hidden amongst some trees in a side street in Bucarest, Romania. It struck me that it was gradually being swamped by the trees and in the future it would
just disappear. Even the lighting gave this impression, with half of the car out of sight in the shade and only the front half visible in the strong sunlight. I thought it was sad that this once useful car was now forgotten, rusting away and all broken up. I originally shot in black and white to take advantage of the strong contrast between light and shadow but it felt too cold and stark, so I warmed the colour in an attempt to "cheer up" this sad sight!
