(Newcastle Upon Tyne)
This is the (imaginatively named) Tyne Bridge which bridges the River Tyne, the river separating Newcastle to the north from Gateshead to the South. As an icon of the city it is heavily photographed, so I wanted to create an original image. I was standing on another bridge upriver of the Tyne Bridge, and I used the structure of this bridge to frame my subject. I divided the composition into 3 equal columns of different shades and used black and white with high contrast to better emphasise this distinction.
